We are well aware of a lot of the great fundraisers for even greater causes. We try to help when we can in the best way that we can. But we all realize we can not attend every event and give to every cause (unless maybe we hit the Powerball tonight!)
This Friday is an AWESOME fundraiser that we would like to see as many people as possible attend or donate to. All proceeds benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley. This is an all ages Zumba fundraiser, with details on the attached poster. And even if you are not available or can not attend, you can still make a donation to PCFLV or donate an item for the raffle. We had another commitment that evening and unfortunately will not be in attendance but still donated a $75 gift certificate, toward a future DJ JIMBO ENTERTAINMENT booking, that will be raffled off at the event.
Why donate? This event was organized by Kristin Nelson, Zumba Instructor, after watching her good friend’s young daughter fight cancer for over half of her almost 10 year life. Caitlin Dickey got the news nobody wanted to hear in February when her MRI revealed she relapsed. There have been lots of up’s and down’s since then and unfortunately last week it was determined by her treatment team at CHOP that there is no cure for her current diagnosis (grade four glioblastoma) and her chemo treatments will be stopped. She still is a fighter and her parents remain committed to allow her to live her life to the fullest, while keeping her comfortable. We hope you consider coming to Southern Lehigh High School this Friday to show your support. Bring your kids to Zumbatomic at 4:30, Adults can Zumba at 7:00, buy raffle tickets, donate a prize, or make a monetary donation. Do it to feel good… do it for PCFLV… do it for Caitlin!
